Everyone is as excited as I am with Spring? No? Yes? Who is with me?
Well, let’s all ignore the famous April’s showers and embrace the fact that Summer is closer than you actually are from playing it cool every time you check the “What’s new” on NET-A-PORTER.
Along this SS18 road, you can be sure to spot tones of pastels shades, mismatches, combos and colour palettes that will, ultimately, show your true colors – or should I say, your dream true colours? The point is: this Spring is all about light, sweet and fairy-tale inspired hues.
Pantone has already let us know that, accordingly to it’s studies and trend reports, Ultra Violet is, definitely, the colour of the year – which includes our beloved and missed Spring AND Summer. We are still very much in love with famous Millennial Pink (hip hip hurra) and Gen-Z Mustard Yellow is unmistakably one of the most beautiful colours we were “authorized” to war since the major Red Alert last year. Of course, and because Fashion has it’s own personality, Ultra Violet became lavender and of all of sudden, the street-style game was filled with pastels marching down the streets.
It was marvelous to spot those shades on the catwalk, and for that we can thank Céline, Victoria Beckham, Ganni and even Mansur Gavriel. From the seafoam green to lime, from ballet slipper pink to peach and from sky blue to teal, it is undoubting to find a carrot orange and pineapple yellow.
But the true magic lies in the playful styling options you are given when dealing with such an adorable and feminine palette. You can go, obviously, with a head-to-toe strategy (power suit alert) or you can mix and match different hues with different fits and (please, be my guest), different fabrics.
