I’m going to share with you an amazing and unique experience one can have. Louis Vuitton invited me to their Louis Vuitton Cruise. It was my first time and I completely loved it.
It’s was 48 hours of intense experiences. We went to Cannes to a luxurious hotel Le Majestic. Then we had an amazing brunch and met other guests.
After the brunch we went back to the hotel to get ready to see the most expected fashion show. The logistics was refined and at its best.
The fashion show was held at the medieval town of Saint-Paul de Vence in the French Riviera. It was a bit far but it was definitely worth it. It was at the Maeght Foundation. It’s a beautiful museum in the middle of Nature. The Maeght Foundation is an exceptional venue, boasting one of the largest collections of the 20th-century in Europe. Paintings, sculptures, drawings and graphic works of Bonnard, Braque, Calder, Chagall, Giacometti, and many others. The fashion show was actually held in the beautiful gardens of the museum where its paths are designed in “S” so that everyone was in the first row and that no one would lose out on anything.
Nicolas Ghesquière announced his renewal of contract with Louis Vuitton with the hashtag #notgoinganywhere.
Ghesquière presented Louis Vuitton’s Cruise 2019 collection, his fifth for the house. He conveys a change that makes sense in the fashion world, “People nowadays want luxury experiences and not just accumulate luxury goods”. Known for his eccentricity, he bets on big wearable proportions and blasts of blazing colours and textures, overtly ’80s inspired. In this collection, the eclectic tailoring, spicy colours, embroidery, mixture of materials, pieces that are true works of art stood out.
The accessories are the real “Must Have”. Ghesquière collaborated with his friend and ex-creative director of American Vogue, Grace Coddington, in a collection of bags inspired by the drawings she made of her beloved cats and dogs. The footwear stood out with its sneakers and over-the-knee boots. These are very much in demand this season and they still continue being.
After the show the 600 guests went to an after party at the Hotel du Cap Eden-Roc! A cool, funny and luxurious experience, which I hope to repeat!
